Why they buy
Why a business with no website is a strong prospect
A business with customers and reviews but no site already has money coming in. It is losing the customers who look it up on a phone, and the owner usually knows it.
Good reviews, no website
Real customers, a working business, and nothing to send people to. This is the strongest lead on the list.
Phone only
Every quote request lands on the owner’s mobile in the middle of a job. A site with a quote form takes that pressure off.
A social page instead of a site
They post photos but cannot take bookings, show prices or be found for their trade and town.
Newly opened
Just opened, few reviews, no site yet. The launch budget is there and no web agency is in place.
No booking or ordering
Salons, restaurants and clinics taking everything by phone. A booking or ordering system is a second product to sell.
Outdated site
Old design, broken on a phone, no HTTPS. Not “no website”, but the same pitch, and LeadsIt flags those too.
The playbook
From a city name to your first website client
Search one trade in one city
Plumbers in Phoenix, salons in Leeds, restaurants in Toronto. One credit each.
Keep the ones with no website
Filter your results on “No website”. Each one comes with its phone number, rating and review count.
Call with a mock-up offer
Say what you noticed, offer a one-page homepage mock-up, send it within two days with a fixed price.
What to say
A first call that gets a “send it over”
“Hi, is this [business name]? I’m [name], a web designer here in [city]. I found you through your reviews, which are great, but I couldn’t find a website for you, so anyone searching for a [plumber] on their phone ends up calling someone else. I build simple sites for [trades] around here. Can I put together a quick mock-up of what your homepage could look like and send it over? No commitment.”
Log the call in the CRM and send the mock-up within two days. Most yeses come on the second or third contact.
The volume maths
What one pack of credits gives a freelancer
One credit is one business type in one city. The 50-credit pack costs $39.00, so that is 50 city searches: for example 10 trades across 5 towns.
Illustration only: if a search returns 100 businesses, 50 searches give you 5,000 businesses, and at about 1 in 5 with no website, around 1,000 businesses that need a site. The real count per search depends on the trade and the size of the city.
Even at a modest site price, one signed client pays for the pack many times over. Credits never expire, so you can search the next town only when you have room for more work.

FAQ
Questions about finding businesses without websites
How do I find businesses without websites?
Search one business type in one city on LeadsIt, for example plumbers in Phoenix. It lists the businesses found from public business information and flags every one with no website, with the phone number it publishes. Filter your results on “No website” and start calling.
Are businesses without a website good prospects for web design?
The strongest are those with good reviews and no site: they have customers and income, but nothing to send people to when they are looked up on a phone. New businesses and phone-only trades come next.
How many businesses without a website will I find?
On LeadsIt, about 1 in 5 businesses found had no website (18.4% of 2,748 businesses found between July and October 2026). It varies a lot by trade and city, so run one search to see your own numbers.
Do I get their email address too?
Usually not: LeadsIt collects emails from a business’s own website, so a business without one rarely has an email to find. You get the phone number it publishes, its address, rating and review count. For these businesses the phone, or a visit, is the way in.
Is it legal to call or email these businesses?
In the US, calls to a business about a business offer are generally outside consumer do-not-call rules, but some states have their own, so check yours. In the UK, screen numbers against the TPS and the Corporate TPS before calling. In Canada, the National Do Not Call List rules do not cover calls to businesses. In the US, CAN-SPAM allows business email if you identify yourself, include your postal address and honor opt-outs. In the UK, PECR lets you email companies without prior consent if you offer an easy opt-out (sole traders need consent). In Canada, CASL allows it when the business publishes its address and your message relates to its work. LeadsIt only collects public business data.
What does the first search show?
Your first city search is included with a new account, no card needed, and shows you its 5 strongest businesses. Any pack, from $6.90 for 5 credits, unlocks the full list, including every business without a website.
Can I search a whole region at once?
Yes. A whole region costs 13 credits and covers its largest cities; a city costs 1 credit. Most freelancers start with a few towns they can serve well, then widen.
