Editorial policy and data methodology

Every guide, article and comparison on leadsit.eu is written and checked by the LeadsIt Team. This page explains who writes, where the figures come from, how we count what LeadsIt searches find, and what we do when something is wrong.

Who writes our content

Pages are written by the LeadsIt Team, the people who build and run the product, and are signed with the team’s name rather than a personal byline. LeadsIt is a commercial product: guides explain how to do the work by hand as well as with LeadsIt, and the comparison pages say so when LeadsIt is not the better fit.

We write for owners, freelancers and small sales teams who sell to local businesses. Copy is in English for readers in the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada, and in French for readers in France; each language follows its own laws and examples.

Where the figures come from

  • Laws and rules (GDPR, CNIL guidance, CAN-SPAM, PECR, CASL, public procurement) are taken from the official texts or the regulator’s own pages, which are linked in the sources of each page.
  • Competitor prices and features are read on the competitor’s public pricing and product pages, with the month they were checked; they change, so check the vendor before you buy.
  • Figures about businesses (how many have no website, how many publish a phone number or an email) come from searches already run on LeadsIt, with the period and the sample size next to each figure.
  • Market sizes and search volumes come from named public sources or from Google’s Keyword Planner, and say so.
  • We do not publish invented numbers, made-up customer stories, ratings or income promises.

How LeadsIt search data is counted

A LeadsIt search looks up one business type in one place in public business listings, then visits each business’s own website to collect the contact details it publishes. When a page quotes a share, such as “about 1 in 5 businesses found had no website”, it is the number of businesses with that trait divided by all businesses found in the searches of the stated period, counted once per search.

These are samples, not a census: the searches ran in different cities and countries, and one search can move a small group’s figure a lot. We show the number of businesses and searches behind each figure, leave out groups with too few searches, and describe the figures as a direction rather than a market statistic. The live counts shown under a search form are counted the same way, from searches already run on LeadsIt.

We never use private data: LeadsIt only shows business contact details that businesses publish themselves, and the data is hosted in the European Union.

Reviews, updates and corrections

  • Each page is checked before it goes live: figures against their source, links, and the legal points against the official text.
  • Articles show the date they were published and, when their content changes, the date of the update. Blog articles go live on their scheduled date and are never backdated.
  • Prices on our own pages come from one price list and are updated everywhere at once.
  • Found a mistake or an outdated figure? Write to support@leadsit.eu or use the contact page; we correct factual errors and note significant changes.

What we will not publish

  • Testimonials, ratings or reviews that we cannot show are real.
  • Promises of income or of results.
  • Advice to contact people in a way the law of their country does not allow.
  • Sponsored or paid placements presented as editorial content.
